The Lineup for Today:

March Madness is officially underway and as always there were big upsets on Day 1. We saw 14th seed Oakland defeat 3rd seed Kentucky while 11th seed Duquesne beat 6th seed BYU. Friday boasts another day of thrilling games with fantastic betting opportunities for college basketball fans. All eyes will be on tournament favorite UConn as they face 16th seed Stetson. While the Huskies should win this game comfortably you can never rule out anything in March. One of the more competitive games for today will take place between Nebraska and Texas A&M, two schools traditionally known for football. Texas A&M’s 1-2 punch of Wade Taylor IV and Tyrece Radford is elite though the Aggies lack depth. Also look out for Nebraska’s Rienk Mast in this one. The Dutch forward is a triple threat capable of scoring, rebounding, and playmaking. Finally, we have a compelling matchup between Vermont and Duke. While Duke enter this game as heavy favorites, Vermont are on a 10 game winning streak with no intention of slowing down. This will be a big jump in competition from Vermont’s conference play in the America East but their elite defense will make this game tight.

Vladislav Goldin 15+ Points (-184) (FD) | March Madness Player Prop

Vladislav Goldin is a 7 ‘1 center who anchors FAU in the paint. Due to his sheer size many teams find it difficult to defend the Russian. Goldin is averaging 15.6 points per game and shooting an extremely impressive 67% from the field.

Goldin has been on a hot streak recently, recording 15+ points in 8 of the last 10 games. While FAU plays in the weaker American Athletic Conference, when playing against Big Ten powerhouse Illinois Goldin dropped 23 points shooting 10-15 from the field.

Finally, Goldin has gone over in 70% of games against similar ranked teams as Northwestern. As a result we expect this trend to continue in Friday’s first round matchup.

Nebraska Moneyline (-118) (FD) | March Madness Moneyline

Nebraska enter the tournament hot, winning 7 of their last 10 games. The Huskers can really score the ball allowing them to upset some of college basketball's premiere teams, like Purdue and Wisconsin.

Nebraska have won in 71% of games against similar ranked teams as the Aggies. They also enter this game as slight favorites. Nebraska are 15-1 in games this season when they are favored on the moneyline.

Texas A&M’s end to the season was a mixed bag only winning 5 of their last 10 games. This season the Aggies have been betting underdogs 11 times and only won 45.5 % of those games. As a result we are riding with Nebraska in this one.

Duke O 69.5 Points (-190) (FD) | March Madness Prop

While Duke may not be a tournament favorite this year they are still an elite college basketball team with some of the top talent in the country. Duke has recorded over 69.5 points in 91% of games, highlighting their consistency in scoring the ball.

Duke has also gone over this line in 100% of games when facing similar ranked opposition as the University of Vermont.

While Vermont are strong defensively, they are yet to face a top 25 team with elite scoring talent. This highlights a big step up in competition. While Vermont will certainly slow Duke down the Blue Devils are still likely to clear this alternate line of 69.5 points.

Augustas Marciulionis 5+ Assists (-190) (DK) | March Madness Player Prop

Marciulionis is your traditional pass first European guard. While Marciulionis does offer a scoring threat averaging 12.5 points per game, he isn’t the most efficient scorer, shooting 34% from three and 44% from the field. His game is much more focussed on getting the likes of Mahaney, Saxen, Jefferson, and Ducas easy buckets.

Marciulionis has recorded 5+ assists in 80% of the last 20 games, highlighting his consistency. Marciulionis has also reached this line in 3 of 4 games when facing similar ranked opponents as Grand Canyon University.

Auburn 75+ Points (-150) (DK) | March Madness Prop
Auburn are a high scoring team, averaging 83 points per game this season. While Broome and Williams lead the way with regards to scoring, the Tigers have great depth that also chips in. More recently Auburn have recorded 75+ points in 8 of the last 10 games.

When facing Ivy League competition, Auburn ran up the score tallying 88 points in a blowout against UPenn. While Yale is a much better team this highlights the level of competition they have primarily been playing against.

Finally, Auburn have scored 75+ points in 77% of games against similar ranked teams as Yale. From these data points we project this trend to continue.

Strategies for Selecting Winning March Madness Prop Bets

Embarking on the journey of March Madness prop betting requires a blend of skill, insight, and strategy. Here are key tactics to help you navigate this exciting landscape and make informed bets:

  • Player Performance Analysis: Delve into recent performances of players. Consider factors like injuries, recovery status, and consistency. A player on a hot streak or facing a weaker defense could be a lucrative bet.
  • Matchup Assessments: Evaluate the matchups carefully. A star shooting guard facing a top perimeter defense might not hit their average threes made. Conversely, a top center against a team with a weak inside defense might exceed expectations.
  • Historical Trends: Look at historical data. Some players may have a history of performing exceptionally well or poorly against certain teams or in particular situations.
  • Coaching Strategies: Stay updated on team strategies. Coaching decisions can influence a player's opportunity to perform. For example, a shift toward a smaller lineup would mean more opportunities for skilled players to score.
  • In-Game Scenarios: Consider the context of the game. A team that's trailing may shoot more threes to try and get back ahead.
  • Bankroll Management: Keep your bankroll in check. Don't place all your funds on one prop; diversify your bets to manage risk.
  • Line Shopping: Compare odds across different sportsbooks. Even small differences can be significant over time, so shop for the best lines for your chosen props.
  • Timing Your Bets: Monitor line movements. Placing your bet at the right time, when the lines are most favorable, can be as crucial as the bet itself.
  • Keeping an Eye on the News: Injuries, trades, and team news can all affect props. Keep an eye on updates right up to game time to catch any critical changes.

By incorporating these strategies into your betting routine, you can boost your chances of finding valuable bets and making your March Madness viewing experience even more thrilling.
