Let's jump in and discover together!

What are Player Prop Bets?

Player prop bets, often called “props,” focus on individual players' actions rather than the overall game result. They're popular in various sports, especially in baseball. In the MLB, these bets zoom in on specific player achievements such as hits, strikeouts, home runs, etc.

Andrew Abbott U 5.5 Strikeouts (-110) (ESPNBet) | Player Prop

The next player prop catching our attention is Andrew Abbott under 5.5 strikeouts.

Abbott has gone under this line in 65% of games this season, including six of the last ten games.

In the four games where Abbott has gone over, he’s faced four teams ranked in the top half of the league for most strikeouts recorded per game: Colorado (2nd), Boston (3rd), Miami (13th), and San Francisco (14th).

Tonight, Abbott faces the Cardinals, who rank 20th in strikeouts recorded per game.

In each of the last four games against Saint Louis, Abbott has gone under this line, including two games this season where he recorded 3 and 2 strikeouts respectively.

Given these factors, we strongly favor the under for tonight.

Ben Lively U 2.5 Earned Runs (-110) (DraftKings) | Player Prop

Our first player prop for today's games is Ben Lively under 2.5 earned runs.

Lively has gone under this line in 70% of games this season, including four of the last five games.

Furthermore, Heaney has been exceptional at home this season, going under this line in 78% of home games.

Tonight, Lively faces the Cubs, who record the 11th fewest runs per game in the league.

Given these factors, we favor his under for tonight.

Blake Snell 8+ strikeouts (-128) (FanDuel) | Player Prop

The last player prop for tonight’s games is Blake Snell 8+ strikeouts.

Snell has been on fire recently, he’s gone over this line in four of the last five, averaging 9.2 strikeouts per game.

Tonight, he faces Atlanta, who record the 6th most strikeouts per game and will be going head-to-head with Chris Sale in a battle of the best pitchers in the league.

Given these factors, we’re liking the over for tonight.

Two-leg Same Game Parlay (+156) (DraftKings)

Last but not least, it wouldn't be a Hall of Fame Bets blog post without utilizing the Parlay Optimizer to build a parlay for tonight’s slate. This parlay consists of these two legs from DraftKings:

This parlay has hit 100% of the head-to-head games this season.

With DraftKings offering it at +106 odds, the value presented makes this parlay too enticing to pass up.
